Post Ironman I had the ultimate recovery week in Ibiza, finally giving my body and my mind a break! I went with my favourite person ever and stayed in the most beautiful hotel. We had the best weather, the best gin, and did nothing but laugh for 7 days. To make it even better we managed to find a few healthy eating spots, if you’re a health freak too and find yourself in Ibiza, make sure to pay these a visit!
The Skinny Kitchen
This place is definitely fitness inspired; it has high protein/low carb, vegan and veggie options. Their slogan is ‘eat clean, rave dirty’ and the décor is gorgeous and white/clean/simple. We actually ended up coming here a few times because it was fairly local (and delicious). We had smoothies, protein bowls and my go-to favourite at healthy restaurants and cafes – pesto courgettie.
This place is amazing! EVERYTHING is natural, plant-based, gluten free, sugar-free – my actual dream! This was definitely a starter-dinner-and dessert kind of meal (most meals by my standard involve this), and I really had to stop myself buying one of the nut-milks to take back with me. To start we shared (raw) nachos and a mixture of bread and different hummus – involving a chocolate savoury bread, followed by vegan burgers, then a coffee cheesecake and cinnamon cashew cream ice-cream (heart-eyed emoji). This place is in Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, and is absolutely beautiful… it is definitely worth spending the whole evening in the area and exploring all of the bars and shops.
This place was right opposite our hotel and we had no idea that it had such a healthy aspect to the menu. We ended up wandering across one afternoon and had the most delicious fresh smoothies and a salad (which they let me design myself because I am ALWAYS that person who changes the menu). We came back with the intentions of having the same again, until I spotted an acai bowl on the menu – topped with fresh fruit and granola, it was sooo good!
Natural Pau Flexitarian
By the time we had found this cute little café (with swings as bar stools) we had actually just finished lunch! Instead of seconds we opted for a healthy pina colada cocktail – no processed syrups and added sugars, simply blended fruit, coconut milk and rum. We followed with an ice cream (not the sugar free, dairy free kind #sorrynotsorry) but they did have an AVOCADO flavoured ice cream, I repeat, avocado ice cream!!
