Golden turmeric latte (and rest advice)

I often promote the importance of rest on my social media, but sometimes I like to ignore my own advice and end up suffering the consequences!

Last week was a tough 16 hour week – a week involving a few really intense sessions. The weekend consisted of 85 miles on the bike with an 18mp average and some winds, followed by a 5 mile hill run, which really did knock me for six – I spent Saturday night in on the sofa in front of the TV with very little energy to do much else then eat and chill. The following day I headed to the pool for a 2.4 mile swim, which for me, was tough!

My training plan on Monday was simply a 15 minute watt bike recovery spin. Instead, I decided to do a seriously disgusting gym session (I literally threw up after the first set), followed by a 10 mile run. Reading this back I just keep thinking what an idiot I am. Anyway, I woke up Tuesday full of cold and unable to do my training!

I am now in panic mode to get better as quick as possible – tomorrow ideally! In the process I mastered a pretty delicious turmeric latte!

  • 1 cup almond milk (Rude Health)
  • 1 tsp. Manuka Honey (15+)
  • 1 tsp. lucama
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (Ndali)
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Blend it all up so its nice and frothy before heating up!
